So I've gotten an LC ethernet card and a crossover cable, and my CC can see the Powerbook (OSX.3) in the chooser. When I try to connect, however, it says (something like) "This server uses an incompatible version of afp. Please contact your administrator" blah blah blah
The CC did have 7.5.3 on it with several networking extensions (that recieved the same error), but due to my own SNAFU the 7.5.3 System Folder was replaced by the System Folder from the Network Boot Disk Image (and now cannot access the external Zip drive, and I can't find a Zip driver that fits on a floppy!) My guess is that my next step is getting ahold of full 7.5.5 install disks and doing a clean install...but I don't have another mac with a floppy drive. I'm using my housemate's PC with a mac floppy reading untility that only handles 1.4 MB or lower files... Thanks for any guidance you can give. If I can get a (iomega) zip driver on it or get it file sharing with OSX.3, I can fix the rest. joey -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
