Well, I'll tell you. The SE analogue board should fit in and attach exactly
the way a Plus board does. According to Larry Pina's book, the only
difference is the v-synch circuitry, which is improved over the Plus (puts
an IC on the board). In fact, that's the reason I even thought about the SE
board, because it fixed everything that was wrong with the Plus and earlier.
As far as modification, it looked like the logic board connector was the
only thing I needed to change. That and relocate the power switch and socket
to correspond with the earlier configuration. The SE moves some stuff around
on the board, but it should all still fit inside the Plus case without any
changes. As for time, it would be a work in progress in my spare time. Not
really trying to make a FrankenMac, more like a Six-Million-Dollar-Mac (I
can make it better than it was ...). I know less about the Classic, just
assumed if the SE fixed the Plus problems, then the Classic must have fixed
the SEs. If any of this is harder than I've summarized above, then I
probably won't do it. Thanks,
