There's just as much use for one today as there was in 1984. The difference
is we have fancier tools by today's standards squeezed into the same box. I
mean come on, it's great to have your e-mail, internet, home recording and
film studio, music collection and game console all in one place that you can
carry around wherever you want and use all of those features. But let's face
it, that's not what the 68000 Macs were designed to do. If you use your
computer mostly for all those other things, then you would have been using
10 different boxes 20 years ago. But, when it comes to productivity
applications like Word processing, it's just as effective today as it was
then.
