Engadget (engadget.com) has either been around a long time (not!) or this was a great BBS-style post (more than likely) about Apple and the Lisa/XL (along with other companies) from 1985.
It's a spoof, of course (if anything, tapecasts are a dead giveaway), but a delightful one. Thanks for sharing!
