Can't you 'force' whatever your trying to link to (router?? switch??) to
10baseT (and maybe single duplex) on the link to your Mac??

I looked into that, but I can't find a way to do it.

I looked through the user manual as well with no luck. I'm going to try and pick up something cheap and used here soon and give it a try.
