Hello. I currently own a partially functioning Mac Classic II. When I say "partially functioning," it boots until I see the Happy Mac, then it's a disk with a blinking icon.

However, before I even attempt to repair this thing, I'm wondering if there is some kind of purpose I could put the Classic II to. If I can't come up with a use, I might as well find some collector or someone who actually knows what they're doing, rather than investing my rather inexperienced effort, time and money, into a project that has a high probability for failure.

I am currently running Mac System 7 on the Classic II (or was), and was, for a while, quite interested in attempting to run Linux on the machine. Aside from experimenting with Linux 68k, I really can't come up with many other purposes. Anything I could do with my Classic II, I can do with much less pain on my iBook (when I say pain, I mean getting things on and off the Classic, as I have no USB floppy drive, and only the family computer has a floppy drive).

So, can anyone suggest some purpose or reason that I should risk attempting to revive this relic, aside from nostalgia? Thank you for your help.
