#2 and #4 seem a lot bigger than OpenSolaris / Linux integration.

Perhaps #2 could be rephrased to cover only the management of a set
of package (as the example "apt" would imply) and not the form of the
packages.  There already is a project (mentioned on this thread) doing
that.

No matter how hard I cross my eyes, I can't see #4 under this title.  If it
happens, it will happen as a very global singular project.

So, you propose the OpenSolaris Reference Distribution, follow your
vision (or what appears to be the minority vision on this discussion), and
not the current vision on the OpenSolaris overview page?  Interesting...
