Dear OpenSolaris community :
I want to take the lead here and bring a topic to the table that needs to
be focused and precise. What I would like to discuss is how we may create
a set of libraries that are open source.
I hope that others see a need for these libraries also.
I will draw upon the experiences and lessons learned while working
within Blastwave.org and from there I can generate a set of libs
that are required. Most of the CSW ( Community Software ) software
will not install without these fundamental dependencies resolved.
Perhaps Alan or Phil can jump in here and we can begin to hammer out some
specs for the task. This is a voluntary process of course and I certainly
feel that we need to address these libraries. Thus I am going to ask Alan
and Phil if we may work together to talk about this task. If these
fundamental libraries are ignored or debated continually then real progress
will not happen.
I am asking Phil and Alan specifically because I know that I have worked,
played, fought and otherwise dealt with both of them for half a decade now
and I *feel* that they are the best people in the world for this task. In
my opinion.
So let's see if we can work together.
