If that's with AIGLX and an X server that generates damage events for window moves (still the case with stock upstream) it's not too surprising without zero-copy GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap (only available in xserver GIT master so far, and only with the r300 and i915tex 3D drivers). P.S.
