If you are viewing a window and you press Show Desktop, it does not show the desktop. This behavior is definitely wrong.
"create a plugin for compiz that enables the correct behaviour, provide it with ubuntu, and enable it by default." Or, if there's some legitimate reason for it to behave this way, the existing plugin could have an option added to it to behave either way?
