Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz
Currently (as of mesa git master from 20100908) Intel Sandybridge GPU's do not function correctly with mesa and correct 3D support is not planned until the 2010Q4 release in december which will not be included in Maverick. Starting a gnome session on one of these devices results in a black screen unless compiz is manually disabled. These devices may be released before 11.04 ships and hence using 10.10 could be expected, so we should blacklist compiz for now until things are fixed upstream so the basic desktop works. The PCI id's were obtained from commits to xf86-video-intel: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel/commit/?id=53767cc0d0a58d36cd445da3a31c65b349eebbba ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Compiz does not work on Intel Sandybridge Integrated GPU's. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/633376 You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
