** Description changed:

- The window manager doesn't on Ubuntu desktop session, but its there in
- safe mode, xfce, and kde sessions. There are no panels or options to
- close, minimize or maximize windows. When I start ubuntu in fail-safe
- graphics mode, login, start gdm, select ubuntu-destop-edition, then
- switch to console mode by pressing ctrl-alt-F4 and type in "sudo gdm",
- it gives me an error saying sothing like: couldn't start org.gnome
- window manager. I'll put exactly what it says later.
+ When I start ubuntu, select "Ubuntu Destop Edition" or "Ubuntu Classic
Desktop", the windows manager isn't there. There are panels only in ubuntu
classic desktop. When I switch to console mode and type in "sudo gdm", it
outputs this message:
+ ** (gdm-binary:2474):WARNING **:Failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager
+ ** (gdm-binary:2474):WARNING **:Could not acquire name;bailing out
