My freshly installed 11.04 is really unstable and it crashes quite often. Suddenly the system freezes (capslock or numlock doesn't work and i cannot switch to another tty). However I noticed that my laptop only crashes when I am at my university. The only thing I can think of that is different when I am at the university is that there the type of wireless network connection is different. Maybe this has nothing to do with this bug (I don't see a relation between the wireless connection/wifi driver and compiz), but I checked the syslog and found exactly the same segfault message as reported here.
I also have a HP Elitebook, model number: 8540w. I have an ATI graphics card and the iwlagn driver is used for my wifi chip. At the university I am connected via a WPA2 enterprise wireless connection. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772988 Title: Compiz crashed with compiz[10187]: segfault at b4cef000 ip 05f1a6ef sp bfbc2dec error 4 in fglrx_dri.so _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
