obviously, I can't move the windows into another desktop by hitting the side of the screen in unity, can I? so, I cannot test the original problem properly. but I tried with the workspace switcher, that worked alright. grouping windows is not friends with the SCALE plugin, if I select a groupped window, just that one is raised, the other one(s) not. but the worst is that when I tried to close the frouped windows, it crashed compiz (and unity). but that is a different problem, several compiz plugins are troublesome in unity...
