Most definitely not involved with I/O. I am very much thinking that any I/O issues are related to the CFQ scheduler as its sluggishness is well- known and documented in bug 381300. While it's marked as fix released a plethora of individuals have claimed that the issue persists. If they are certain that it's I/O related I feel that that's a different bug because this isn't intermittent, it gradually (and pretty predictably) "happens".
Also, I have 8 gigs of RAM. I never bog the system down enough for the system to justify swap usage (and I'm a blenderhead). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/888039 Title: Gradual degradation in desktop performance.
