Thanks for the info, I haven't been able to get your fix working. After trying various ways of login into terminal, x is still running error at the last minute. can't login as root, sudo service lightdm, said instance not running... Looks like I'll try the updating, until edgers or someone does a ppa? nice to know its on the way...
