Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.04 trusty, compiz 1:0.9.11+14.04.20140218-0ubuntu1. Four workspaces configured in a 2x2 grid.
To reproduce: Start several applications with non-fullscreen windows, e.g. gnome-terminal. Once there are several of these windows, compiz will create new ones overlapping existing windows. Expected result: All windows not larger than the workspace should be placed entirely within the workspace. Problem: New overlapping windows' lower and right borders will be beyond the lower and right edges of the workspace. This hides parts of the windows and messes with Alt+Tab in other workspaces. Cause: Windows are being placed up to 2 pixels too far to the right and 29 pixels too far down. This corresponds to the size of the window border: 1 pixel left, right, and bottom, and 28 pixels top. So it looks like the positioning code is not taking into account the border when placing the windows. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1287427 Title: new windows initially placed partly outside workspace To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1287427/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
