I have not noticed this in Ubuntu 14.04.1 until now because I had previous been using Openbox (LXDE Desktop Environment), but after switching back to Unity I noticed this.
I haven't seen any issues prior with any OpenGL programs under the LXDE Desktop Environment nor so far any artifacts/glitches in OpenGL software on Unity. In my case it has nothing to do with Video memory (only about 23% used, hovering at about 9% GPU Utilization), as far as I can tell, this is not an NVIDIA bug, but a compiz bug. For Reference: Ubuntu 14.04.1 Linux Kernel 3.13.0-45-generic #74-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 13 19:36:28 UTC 2015 x86_64 NVIDIA Driver 331.113 Compiz: 0.9.11.3 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of compiz packagers, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1072206 Title: [nvidia] Window content is black or transparent To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1072206/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~compiz Post to : compiz@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~compiz More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
