Being in the mood of starting a flame war... There are people out there in the wild, who consider stored procedures(SP), views, triggers and other kinds useful.
One major drawback of these things is, that you don't have them under version control neither can you easily "see" them, if you don't have access to the production database. So you're developing a SP on your dev-machine and when ready, you kindly ask the admin to install the SP on the production system. This is the best way to get WOMM[1]-certified. If you want another dev to review your SP, you send it via mail or manually put it in a textfile and check it in your VCS. This is ridiculous. I propose a component to store and retrieve stored procedures, views and triggers and to write them in any format to a local filesystem, thus making them trackable by a VCS. At the same time you get the possibility to easily install a SP on half a dozens dev-machines.
