I currently have a K6-2/300 with this spec :
K6-2/300 running at 3x100
Mobo Gigabyte SG100 (SiS5595 Chipset) @ ATX
1 DIMM 64 MB Visipro 100 MHz
CL Banshee 16MB AGP
SB16 PnP ISA
HDD Quantum Fireball EL 5.1 GB
CD-ROM Creative Matshita 32X CR-588
FDD 1.44 Mitsubishi
Logitech Mouse
GTC 15" Monitor
Keyboard TurboPlus
The Computer is not in my place, it's in my brother's place, so I
can't test anything directly to the computer. However, my brother
do
the test.
This is the story of the problem.
Please read fully, so you can see the history.
When the computer arrive, it's still have no problem. The next day,
when the game plays game, it kick out to the desktop.
My brother format it, and reinstall clean Win98, update Banshee
drivers.
When he played the games, it runs perfectly. But after few days, it
start to kick out to desktop. And be more terrible. It shows BSOD,
error exceptions.
In this time, my brother test it for office application, runs
without
problem, tested for a whole day.
He reformat it, and reinstall Win98. You know what happen? During
the
install, the BSOD came out. Missing file xxxx... But, there is file
xxxx.... read in another computer. And the file is valid.
The computer has been tested with HIMEM.SYS, but no problem exist.
Running safbench for hours, but absolutely no errors encountered.
It looks like not a software problem. But, if it is hardware
problem,
which one is wrong? The symptoms is really strange for me.
Can anybody tell me, if there is incompatibility between the
components?
fyi, the CPU is blowed by CPU Fan. The Banshee is equipped with
HeatSink, and the Casing has and low-case ATX Fan.
