The Diamond Viper V550 (the AGP version) passed all of our tests with flying colors and put up clean images on the display. The card's excellent signal rise time and video bandwidth index lend themselves to high-resolution graphics display. There was some overshoot and ringing at the rising edge, but we saw no visible problems on the ViewSonic P810 monitor used for testing. Owners of older or inferior monitors should be wary of the 184-mV overshoot, however. The Creative Labs Graphics Blaster Riva TNT produced crisp and accurate images at a high resolution and high frequency, with a good dynamic range. Graphics Blaster had the best black level and white level in the roundup. The fast rise time and excellent video bandwidth index indicate the card is tuned for high-end monitors. Owners of cheaper monitors, however, should be wary of the card's 116-mV overshoot and some sustained ringing at the rising edge. We do not recommend the Canopus Spectra 2500 for those who plan to display at 1,024-by-768 or above. The card's signal-rise-time and video bandwidth indexes were among the worst. There was also some sustained ringing in the signal.
