Magnetic memory
Infineon and IBM are working on magnetic memory to reduce
the power consumption, speed up the overall performance and
avoid the known booting up process. I read this in the newspaper
today and it sounds quite nice, the MRAM chips can store data even
if the whole PC was turned off which allows us to directly continue
to work with the system, no boot up needed. The fact that their memory
uses less power makes it suitable for everything including PDAs, mobile
phones, PCs, notebooks, ... and, according to the article, it'll be a lot faster
than current solutions, we'll see... one thing is sure, we'll watch this and
let you know the news! =)
