What is ACPI?

ACPI is a standard developed by Microsoft, Intel, and Toshiba, which stands
for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. Basically ACPI controls
the amount of power given to each device on a computer. With ACPI enabled,
the computer can turn off certain devices, such as CD-ROMs, when not in
use. Also included in ACPI is save to memory function.
One major benefit of ACPI is the "HLT" command. Basically what this does
is puts the CPU in a comatose for a few cycles. No power will be supplied
to the CPU during a "HLT" stage, and thus power consumption, and idle CPU
temps drop dramatically.
ACPI also manages IRQs. This is where it starts to get a little
funky. Sometimes ACPI doesn't play nice, and will try to make all devices
share the same IRQ. That's when you start having problems. If all of your
devices are sharing the same IRQ, and you're having trouble, it's time to
disable ACPI. To disable it, just get one of the modified BIOS files from
the forum at
http://www.icronticforums.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=32. Once you
flash the new BIOS, Disable ACPI in the BIOS. Then Windows will detect all
your devices again and put the devices on their BIOS-defined IRQ.
If you AREN'T having IRQ problems, DO NOT DISABLE ACPI. It is a very
valuable tool, and can help you drastically. Often times several devices
can be shared on the same IRQ without a problem, so don't worry about it if
you aren't noticing a problem.

Jadi pada intinya mas GP coba lepaskan ACPI dan pilih Disable, untuk
menghindarkan device berbagai IRQ.

Saya sendiri coba cara ini, begitu mau masuk GUI Win2K, system langsung
reboot, tapi _mungkin_ cara ini safe jika anda install OS pertama kali
sudah tidak pakai ACPI.
