If a desktop - the ATI "All in Wonder" will do a fine job. The more video ram the better. You can get a 32 meg for about $160 to $180. You can also get a decent DVD player for your TV for the same price. The replay quality is always better if you use a DVD player direct connected at the TV, rather than cabling across the house from your computer. If you have a CD-Rw you can record your slideshow in a VCD format which will allow you to play them on any TV with a DVD player. Obviuously much more portable. Another interesting option is the Sony Playstation 2, about $ 280. It is very portable. Easily connected and plays DVDs, VCD AND games.
