To search for Scala programmers I would also recommend advertising on the Scala forums. There are very few Scala programmers out there as its difficult transition from Java/C++ but industry programmers who have made the leap are quite positive. http://scala-forum.org/list.php?6 http://scala.sygneca.com/jobs/start http://groups.google.com/group/scala-base?pli=1
I looked into Scala but was concerned that if I developed my Go engine in that language things could be more focused on working with the cool features of the language (pattern matching, etc) rather than developing truly abstract data representations. It would be very informative if there were any papers published that dealt with the practicalities of using Scala for a machine learning project. Eric Baum's book 'What is Thought' looks overall quite interesting and does discuss Computer Go briefly. http://books.google.com/books?id=TPh8uUFiM0QC&dq=what+is+thought&printsec=frontcover&source=bn&hl=en&ei=tdE_TJ2cCYvRcaefwIgF&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CCwQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q&f=false On Thu, Jul 15, 2010 at 8:00 PM, <computer-go-requ...@dvandva.org> wrote: > Send Computer-go mailing list submissions to > computer...@dvandva.org > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > http://dvandva.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/computer-go > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > computer-go-requ...@dvandva.org > > You can reach the person managing the list at > computer-go-ow...@dvandva.org > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Computer-go digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
