Call dell ...there may be a recall or else they may fix it because there have been problems...be a little insistent ...I had a refurb 4300 fail & they sent me a new one ...first they said I was SOL but after insisting, they sent me a new one and, as they had run out of 4300's they sent me a 4400 instead ...and they paid all the s/h too!! Give it a try, no?

On an iBook it is easy to get to the wire. I have done this and can vouch for it being easy and effective. On a Dell? I don't know. Try Googling for an answer.
