Those are installed upon installing itunes/ipods.  Weird that they are in
your task manager, none are in mine, but running in the background.  Many
programs install services to increase functionality/speed.  Checking the
task manager for programs running is a lot easier then going to
C:\WINDOWS\system32\blah.  The files MS updated are not newly installed, but
updates to current files.  Aside from MS being able to at will install
software, there is also the problem of many IT managers wanting to fully
test all updates before applying them to their finely tuned network.

We don't own windows, or for that matter os x.  They can do what they want.
