That is step one, but is he ready for step two, three, etc?

Are his files backed up? Who will do that?

Does he have all the drivers he will need?

Does he have disks for application software? What is he using? Does he 
have serial numbers & installation codes?

Or maybe it would be better to work on plan "B"... What is the computer 
being used for? If it is just basic internet and office you may want to 
move him over to Google Apps.

Ultimately, someone who knows so little aboyt computers should not be 
using Windows. The right answer is a Mac and iWork. This is much easier 
to work with.
