[CGUYS] HDMI vs. DVI

Have a new 22" display with HDMI and VGA ports. Computer [Mac] has mini 
DVI. We can get cables either DVI to VGA or DVI to HDMI. Prefer digital. 
What kind of resolution can I get with the HDMI?
