Thanks both!

I should have thought of looking for the information in my router, and I should have checked Activity Monitor for the information more carefully.

I don't like the whole Dashboard/Widgets concept, but istat nano is a cool one. As with most widgets, the info it displays and the info I was after is in Activity Monitor/Network.

I've switched to a D-Link router and it seems to only show packets. A packet seems to be somewhere between 1000 and 2000 bytes.

On the Mac, is there a way to see how much internet I am getting? Or is there a tool or program I can download? I'm thinking of getting one of the wireless devices from Verizon so I can have internet on the road and I want to see if I can get by with a 250Mb limit.

My Netgear router can be set to do this.
