I really like my Palm Tungsten so I'm watching the Pre rollout with interest. Looks like there were lines at the stores and the small number of available Pres sold out by noon. Unlike the crazy iPod crush, the limited availability made for a better customer experience. Reports were that store staff could take the time to make the sale right and get the customer running before they left the store. http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do? command=viewArticleBasic&taxonomyName=Mobile+and +Wireless&articleId=9134058&taxonomyId=15&pageNumber=1

Also of interest is the ability of the Pre to sync with iTunes libraries. This may be giving Apple heartburn, but Apple blocking the Pre could give anti-trust regulators heartburn. Wouldn't it be nice if Apple found a way to be gracious about it.
