Normally, I don't recommend using generic ink, but if you're not going for excellent color reproduction or archival quality, generics can save you $. Innovera makes inks for several Epson models, & so far I haven't had a problem. Nobody's going to give you a page count/cartridge figure. The only way I calculated ours was to keep track for the first cartridge set vs. page count, & come up with a (very rough) estimate. Of course, we'd already bought the printer.
