I use Gmail and download the messages to my computer using POP and read with Eudora. Most of the time I get attachments just fine, and I have been doing this successfully for over a decade with various mail hosts. But for some reason I do not get the attachments downloaded from Gmail with the messages from one particular person.

If I access Gmail via my web browser, they are there and I can click on them and download them just fine. I suspect that a Microsoft specific attachment method is to blame. Here is the relevant message header info:
X-MS-Has-Attach: yes
MIME-Version: 1.0

My question is: how do I get Gmail to transfer the attachments all the time when I download messages by POP? I couldn't find any Gmail settings that would help. Is this sender (or his email program) doing something "wrong" in the way he attaches messages? Or is there something I need to tweak on my end?

Unless the mailer says something about the attachment in the message, I would have no idea that there was an attachment unless I check the headers carefully. I can set up a filter in Eudora to notify me of this situation, but I am concerned that I will miss something important so I would like to find a better solution.
