Although I tried, I have not really found out what was happening. Some very strange interaction between the comtypes.partial metaclass and the Python debugger (I could even reproduce the problem in the commandline debugger pdb.py). Anyway, I have changed the code in SVN so that the problem does not appear any longer. I will make a new release tomorrow, hopefully.
