As best I can tell, connectivity_test.log just contains a connectivity test (no changes written to the remote) and update_remote_firmware.log contains a firmware update, but not a config update. Perhaps the Desktop software is doing some sort of check and not actually doing a config update if the remote's current config hasn't change. Maybe instead you could try doing the update config through members.harmonyremote.com instead of the desktop software?
