Yep, Alan doesn't seem to like doing releases, so I figured it would be 
simplest just to base it on git master, rather than try to pull in random 
patches that we need.

Well, and FreeBSD is a lot closer to being able to support hidapi.  Once 
they get the FreeBSD 10 libs into unstable, I think it should just be a 
matter of some autoconf/makefile stuff.  On the Hurd front, it doesn't 
even have libusb-1.0 so that is a bigger problem.
