Is the latest version in a repository, which I can use to update? I am 
not doing well with the manual method because I do not know where all 
the required files are kept at the site. If the latest version is not in 
a pre-compiled format, then I have some questions:

   The instructions say:

Has mkdir failed because i did not use sudo? It does not show it in the 
help file.
