Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not aware of any environments
which set $EDITOR by default. Users who set EDITOR to `vim' or similar
are probably sufficiently knowledgeable to set VISUAL to something
appropriate if needed.

On the other hand, I guess it's true that I don't know, offhand, of
any precedent for graphical applications using $EDITOR. On the third
hand, I don't use many other graphical applications :)
