Have a look into the contrib/debian/ directory, there are scripts
which automatically build the .orig.tar.gz used for the Debian
packages.

As Debian maintainer of Conkeror, I'd be happy to see more releases,
too, but I know that the current development model is based on
milestones, i.e. the releases are usually states with brand new
features and brand new bugs, not the states which are considered
stable and with just very few bugs.

So I basically consider a good time to make a new package if nothing
happened in the git repository for a week or two. That are usually
more stable states. :-)
