I follow up to my own post as experimenting around gives that AdBlock
works well to kill these banners and solve the problem. In doing this, I
had to resort to AdBlock Plus 1.3.10 as with AdBlock 2 I couldn't access
the filter settings. I tried to work around by going to the filter list
website directly as suggested in another post, but didn't succeed with
this method either to set up the filters.

Is there any way to use AdBlock Plus 2 with conkeror for now?
