Dear Ezra,

I understand your concerns for my mental health, as we're all so yung and

I would suggest paying more attention to whether your minimal pairs
are in the same distributional category, i.e., likely to occur in the
same context. If not, you're probably fine.

See here:

http://www.pobox.com/~jimhenry/conlang/redundancy.htm

*Any* possible phonology you devise will have a lot of minimal pairs
if you coin every word that the phonology allows, and any phonology
will allow you to avoid minimal pairs if you're willing to get by with
fewer short words than you could have if you agressively used all the
possible combinations.

I've noticed that "kh" and "yh" are both fricatives, but they are very
different from each other. I know how to make the sounds, but I don't
know how to describe them yet. I'm (reluctantly) learning some
phonology so when the times comes to document the phonology of
conlang-X I will have the necessary terms to describe the various
sounds.

I'm beginning to develop a "feel" for the way words are put together
in conlang-X. It's odd, because the sentence structure is nothing like
any language I've learned before, yet it's beginning to feel natural.
