Hi Daniel,

would love to contribute! However I haven't planned that extra time for
diving into the connman source code... and deadlines being what they
are, I might have to move to an alternative :(

Decision is not yet made though, as I still have other things to
evaluate. Our networking requirements are quite complex and I'm still
trying to figure every bits and pieces!

If it ever occurs that I retain the connman solution, I certainly might
submit the patches.

Thanks,
Maxime

Marvell Distributed Switch Architecture

https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/networking/dsa/dsa.txt

I see this patch claims to support it:

https://connman.connman.narkive.com/jNyPclQ4/patch-add-management-of-dsa-interface

... but I have no idea how to setup my interfaces in a config file and
Connman doesn't appear to be detecting any of the interfaces.

Brian

Hi Brian,
As far as i remember, we did not setup specific things.

on our board we have a broadcom switch with 2 ports.
so we have eth0 (for the physical interface) and lan1/lan2 for the dsa
interface related to switch port.

at the boot of the board, we have only eth0 up, so
connmanctl services gives
connmanctl services
*Ac Wired ethernet_0010025f02a4_cable

if i plug lan1 and lan2 to a network and set it up, then i get

connmanctl services
*Ac Wired ethernet_0010025f02a4_cable
*Ac Wired ethernet_0010025f02a4_p00_cable
*Ac Wired ethernet_0010025f02a4_p04_cable
with 0 corresponding to the port number of the switch for lan1, and 4
to the port for lan2

We have a 3.10 kernel version with connmand version v1.31

Regards
Laurent

I'm using 4.9 Kernel.

Did Connman just automatically see those interfaces or did you have to make
some config files with MAC and VLAN ID's to give it clues to find them?

Not sure if it's Connman code or our driver code that's the issue at the
moment.

Brian

if i remember well we did nothing specific in config. the bahaviour
was the same for VLAN
but you have to set up each interface, and plug on a network, if no
connman doe snot display it
but it was on an old kernel and old verison of connman, i have no way
to try on 4.9
