I wonder if anyone has experience of collecting, safely storing and/or disposing of (the contents of) self-heating tin cans? We have an unopened Heinz Mock Turtle self-heating soup can in the collection that is severely corroded on the exterior. I am concerned both about further corrosion and potential leakage of toxic contents and the possibility that the degraded can could undergo an exothermic reaction whilst being stored. Any advice or pointers to relevant articles would be much appreciated.
