Hi
About 10 years ago there was a nice archival white ink for labeling objects. I
want to relabel some objects and use a clear B-72 as a base with white ink on
dark objects.
The labeling done 15-20 years ago was not placed in discreet locations and the
writing is not legible.

Thanks for your comments.

Dear Alicia,
A very popular white marker is the Edding paint marker. It comes in 2
thicknesses (n°751: 1-2 mm and n°780: 0.8 mm). The pigments are permanent and
work very well on B-72 leaving a mate paint over the acrylic.
You can find them at Conservation by design, p 142 of our catalogue.
Kind regards

We are looking for alternatives for labelling modern books in libraries that
are non-adhesive. Has anyone heard of or use non-adhesive methods to label
their books? We would really appreciate any ideas and opinions on this issue.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Dear Rebecca,
When I worked in the national archives in France we looked for similar
solution.
1st we went for conservation paper covers. It was very convenient because we
could right or stick anything on it but we stopped when we realized that the
wrapping was occulting on going degradations processes.
Then we looked for polyester bands or covers. Not too bad but not really
suitable for large and heavy books and difficult to attach.
Awkwardly the end solution was Tyvek labels attached to linen strings that were
pasted between 2 pages (a little like a page finder but the other way round)
and hanging from the head onto the spine. Aesthetically it was hard to accept
but it worked really well.
If you want to try any of these solution you can find the conservation paper,
the polyester or the Tyvek labels at Conservation by design.
I'd be happy to discuss further if you wish.
Kind regards
