FAIC is collecting stories of the preparedness activities conducted this month
in recognition of MayDay, the annual event encouraging libraries, museums,
archives, historical societies, and preservation organizations to take at least
one simple step to prepare for emergencies. Although MayDay is technically May
1st, we welcome stories of any activities happening during the month of May -
so it's not too late to organize your activity!

No action is too small. Consider reviewing your emergency plan or reading up on
how to properly use a fire extinguisher. If you are looking for additional
ideas, check out FAIC's MayDay website at <URL:
http://www.conservation-us.org/emergencies/mayday> or review posts with the
hashtag #MayDayPrep on Facebook and Twitter.

You can share your story via an easy online portal: <URL:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MayDayPrep2017>.

Everyone who posts will be entered to win one of six gift certificates from
Gaylord Archival - one $250 Grand Prize gift certificate, two $100 gift
certificates, and three $50 gift certificates. Gaylord offers an array of
emergency supplies, from freezer paper, to goggles, to water detectors. Check
out their offerings at <URL: http://www.gaylord.com/c/Supplies-and-Equipment>.

This month, do just one thing for emergency preparedness!
