 $55,000 plus benefits



The Mariners’ Museum and Park is looking for a full-time chemist to fill a
two-year position funded in part through a Maritime Heritage Grant from The
Maritime Administration (MarAd) in partnership with The National Park
Service. The chemist will be responsible for overseeing and operating all
analytical equipment within the conservation laboratory at the Batten
Conservation Complex and conduct analyses on organic/inorganic substances
and materials. This position will be focused primarily on the USS *Monitor*
Project working in conjunction with conservation personal to stabilize
USS *Monitor
*artifacts. In addition, the chemist will assist with material analysis
when required by conservation/collection staff dedicated to the care of the
Museum’s general collection.
