The Australian War Memorial is looking into options for replacing some of its Ethafoam mannequins. We would be keen to hear from anyone who has experience in displaying military uniforms, with up to 30 kilograms of kit, including weapons and back packs, in posed stances, such as marching or standing aiming a rifle. What are the pros and cons of the mannequins you are using? How easy are they to dress and what is your preferred limb fixing mechanism? How easy are they to alter if you have mismatch sized garments? How stable are they? Have you had to alter the mannequins to allow then to carry the required weights?
