What it's like to work here
There's no other organisation like the National Trust, Europe's largest
conservation body. No other organisation brings such an incredible array of
places and spaces to life. No other organisation with such an extraordinary
wealth of talent, expertise and insight. We look after one of the finest and
most comprehensive collections in the world. We want all our visitors to enjoy
the illuminating, often surprising stories, that lie beneath the surface of
our spaces, places and objects.

What you'll be doing
You will join a team of National Specialists in Collections and work with the
Preventive Conservation Adviser - Skills and Projects. We want you to use your
experience and knowledge of current collections storage practice, to deepen our
understanding of the storage needs of collections and archaeological archives
across the Trust and options for improving access and conservation to support
the presentation and conservation objectives of our national strategy. This
includes permanent storage, temporary storage for rotating exhibitions and
dynamic display, major incidents and building works.
We want you to bring your knowledge of recent and current storage projects to
bear on the Trust's needs to inform an options appraisal to improve standards
of conservation and make our collections more accessible and of greater benefit
to our visitors and conservation and curatorial scholars. You will work with
the specialist adviser and Heads of relevant profession (particularly
collections conservation and archaeology, also collections management) to
survey the national need, examine some representative case studies in greater
detail and draw together a high level final report making strategic and costed
recommendations. You will identify and work with other regional initiatives in
this area. You will also identify opportunities for engaging new and existing
audiences in this work, and for attracting funding for any of the options you
identify.

organisational skills with the ability to work cross functionally with
different colleagues.

· Experience in enhancing engagement opportunities with collections etc.

· Experience of carrying out surveys, collating and synthesising data
and presenting it in strategic reports with costed recommendations.

· Good communication skills, self-motivated and proactive, with the
ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, and inspire your colleagues
about your work.

· Full driving license and willingness to work at the national scale.
You are likely to have a relevant post-graduate degree or qualification in
