I work with the collections and exhibits on school history for a university's student union. Our Alumni Association is donating a wax figure of the Jayhawk mascot to us that we will need to move from their building to our own on campus. The figure is approximately 34" x 53" x 56", made of wax formed around a wooden frame. The figure is 35 years old, with visible cracking in the wax but I'm not sure if the cracking is cosmetic or structural.
I'm trying to find resources on prepping and moving wax figures, and then cleaning, repairing, preserving such items. Not having much luck in my search. Any suggestions? Any help greatly appreciate, tim Tim Gaddie | Traditions Administrator Memorial Union<https://union.ku.edu/> of the University of Kansas 1301 Jayhawk Boulevard Lawrence KS 66045 785-864-6609 KUHistory.ku.edu <http://kuhistory.ku.edu/> | KU History on Facebook <https://www.facebook.com/KUHistoryToday/> | KU History on Twitter<https://twitter.com/kuhistorytoday> ****** Unsubscribe by sending a message to [email protected] Searchable archives: http://cool.conservation-us.org/byform/mailing-lists/cdl/
