Subject: Input requested for proposed pressure-sensitive tape removal workshop
 Message: Dear Colleagues,

The Univ. of Utah's Marriott Library is anxious to determine whether hosting a
tape removal workshop would be useful to the profession. We have a sense that
practitioners would benefit from and enjoy engaging with Seth Irwin and Noah
Smutz (paper conservators in private practice) who work with a wide variety of
pressure sensitive tape problems and are dynamic teachers. The Marriott
Library's Dean has asked me to gather input from conservators about weather
this topic would indeed fill a need. So,  please be kind enough to respond to a
two-question survey about a proposed tape removal workshop sometime later this
year:

If there is sufficient interest expressed Marriott Library would be pleased to
host this three-day course covering a range of treatment options for removing
pressure-sensitive tapes and reducing tape stains. Your comments on this are
also welcome and will remain anonymous, so I invite your comments which can
also be included in the survey. For questions, please message me offline at
[email protected] <[email protected]>

Many thanks in advance for your help – thank you!

Scroll is a journal by the Student Conservators at Melbourne (SC@M). It is a
platform for cultural heritage students and emerging professionals to express
their creativity and share their ideas. Find us at:
www.studentconservators.com/scroll <http://www.studentconservators.com/scroll>

Submissions for Volume 6 are now open!
Scroll invites international emerging conservators to submit articles for
publication. Send us an abstract (maximum 200 words) by 13 April 2025. Full
length manuscripts are due 15 June 2026.

We are looking for content to fit in the below categories:

[ essays ]
This could be an opinion piece, critique, research, or random musing. Maybe
something could be pulled together by reworking an assignment or fleshing out
an idea that was outside the scope of an assignment.

[ reviews ]
Books, articles, journals, workshops, exhibitions, webinars, conferences -
anything that's caught your attention as inspiring or important, or in
desperate need of critique.

[ interviews ]
Conducted for the purpose of publication, for instance, directing questions at
a conservator or artist to understand and record their processes and techniques.

[ reports ]
Formalise the ideas and results of a personal project or treatment with a
report. Or create a report or summary of a conference or webinar.

[ creative ]
Creative writing, illustrations and images, satire… all forms considered.

Scroll does not prescribe a word count. However, we find that submissions
ranging between 500 and 5,000 words match our readership's expectations well.
All writing should be referenced per APA style, Seventh Edition, which can be
found HERE <https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines>.

The Scroll Editorial Team provides editorial support for all aspects of
readying a piece of work for publication, including feedback on writing,
syntax, argument, referencing, and language choice. The editorial process is
highly collaborative and your submission may see numerous revisions as we work
together towards the best possible outcome. Works are copy-edited and type-set
for publication by the Scroll Editorial Team, with consultation and final
approval from contributors.

Please direct all queries, proposals or submissions to the Scroll Editorial
Team at: [email protected] <[email protected]>.

With thanks,
The Scroll Editorial Team
